


Since 2007, Major Woodson has conducted thousands of hours of firearms training with individuals and groups. In that time, he has helped countless military service members, law enforcement officers, and civilians of all ages learn to handle firearms safely. His vision is to eliminate accidental firearm deaths in California by 2040. He draws on the same doctrine and training he applies in the Army today to help his students build confidence and familiarity.
Major Woodson believes preventing accidental firearm deaths is a community responsibility, and that prevention begins with education. His training equips people with the knowledge and habits to reduce risk through safe handling, proper storage, and sound decision-making. This structured approach ensures individuals have access to reliable information and trusted instruction.
Major Woodson deployed to combat in Afghanistan and Iraq and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Master Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Order of Saint Maurice – Centurion. He has also completed advanced leadership and advisory courses that reflect his depth of military expertise.
